Margaret Robert’s 3-month Woodford Academy residency was affected by an unfortunate injury, and she was unable to spend time onsite, but she will still be speaking on Saturday, 19th April at 1 pm for what would have been her concluding talk. She will build on her February talk, to give more detail about her specific residency plans and where they may have come from in her own art practice, as well as how they draw on other’s art practices. These plans are for artworks that raise questions about the possibility of holes in time and about accessibility to knowledge needed to understand artwork in particular. These questions of time and knowledge broadly parallel the historical work of the Woodford Academy, only using more of what is sometimes thought of as the ‘right side of the brain’. Consequently questions about the art-thinking process are intertwined with them. There will be time for questions and discussion about these subjects after the talk. When she is fully recovered we will coordinate a later time for her onsite work.
