Steam returns for 2026 at the Valley Heights Rail Museum commencing from March, just in time for the NSW Seniors Festival.
For the month of March Seniors Card holders receive 2 seniors for the price of 1 on admissions (upon presentation of current Seniors Cards) on public open days.
Come along, explore and enjoy a unique piece of Australian railway history. Our historic Blue Mountains Locomotive Depot houses a collection of fascinating locomotives and carriages from Sydney’s rail and tramway past.
The roundhouse represents 112 years of rail history. Climb aboard locomotives and carriages that have steps leading to doorways. Browse our collection of small exhibits and railway art. Admire the two model railways one of which depicts Valley Heights in the 1950s.
Your admission price includes a ride on the unique Valley Heights Mixed steam train. Climb aboard and enjoy a short 15-minute ride in an original ‘Cowboy’ style carriage dating from the 1890s hauled by Stevo, our hard working 127-year-old steam locomotive.
